Taylor Bend, Douglas Lake, Jefferson county 2/25/08, 3-5 PM Lake elevation: 956.5 ft.We decided to take advantage of the sunshine & drove through Baneberry to the McCorkle Rd turnaround, then walked along the lakeshore toward Dutch Bottoms. Though the numbers for some duck species were the highest we've seen in this area, the counts are actually conservative. Many of the ducks were backlit by the low sun, and over 1/2 mile away.
