[Bristol-Birds] Cumberland Trip Results

Nine Bristol Bird Club Members (Lisa Tyler, Audrey Abernathy, Lois Cox,
Wilma Boy, John Hay, Polly Moyle and John Moyle) spent last weekend birding at
Obed Scenic and Wild River, Frozen Head Wilderness Area, Norris Dam, Cove
Lake, Royal Blue and Cumberland Gap. Our list totaled 83 birds, one
Copperhead, a Red Eft, Snapping Turtle, several frogs, 4 Alpacas, deer,
squirrels and
lots of I. D.ed butterflies. The scenery (great vistas), lodging and food
were woderful as was the camaraderie. Here is the trip avian list: Canada
Goose, Mallard, Wild Turkey, Double-crested Cormorant, Great Blue Heron,
Green Heron, Black Vulture, Turkey Vulture, Osprey, Cooper's Hawk,
Red-shouldered Hawk, Broad-winged Hawk, Red-tailed Hawk, Merlin, Peregrine

Killdeer, Rock Pigeon, Mourning Dove, Yellow-billed Cuckoo (mating), Chimney
Swift, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Belted Kingfisher, Red-bellied Woodpecker,
Downey Woodpecker, Hairy Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, Pileated Woodpcker (5 at
one time), Eastern Wood-pewee, Acadian Flycatcher, Eastern Phoebe, Great
Crested Woodpecker, Eastern Kingbird, White-eyed Vireo, Yellow-throated Vireo,
Blue-headed Vireo, Red-eyed Vireo, Blue Jay, American Crow, Tree Swallow,
Northern Rough-winged Swallow, Cliff Swallow, Barn Swallow, Carolina
Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, White-breasted Nuthatch, Carolina Wren, House Wren,
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Eastern Bluebird, Wood Thrush, American Robin, Northern
Mockingbird, Brown Thrasher, European Starling, Cedar Waxwing, Northern
Parula, Black-throated Green Warbler, Yellow-throated warbler, Pine Warbler,
Black-and-White Warbler, American Redstart, Ovenbird, Louisiana Waterthrush,
Kentucky Warbler, Commom Yellowthroat, Hooded Warbler, Yellow-breasted Chat,
Summer Tanager, Scarlet Tanager, Eastern Towhee, Chipping Sparrow, Field
Sparrow, Song Sparrow, Northern Cardinal, Indigo Bunting, Red-winged Blackbird,
Eastern Meadowlark, Commom Grackle, Brown-headed Cowbird, Orchard Oriole,
House Finch, American Goldfinch, House Sparrow.
