There are some new pics of a second Selasphorus hummingbird in Carter County. Billie Merritt in Valley Forge sent me photos of the hummer at the feeders this morning (Dec. 8) Temperature was 12 degrees when Billie took the photos.
The good news is that the hummingbird at the Merritt residence is still present.
A check with Betty Murray in Warrior Estates off Big Springs Road, however, was less positive. She hasn't seen the bird this morning, although she also said she hasn't had a great deal of time to watch for it.
