Burke's Garden, VA
Sunny skies & shirt-sleeve temperatures.

A good group of BBC members & guests observed several interesting
birds in this high mountain valley.  Efforts were focused on raptors, 
waterbirds,
& specialties like Red-headed Woodpecker, and are thusly reflected in the 
following list.

Canada Goose - 175+

Green-wg. Teal - 12
Pied-billed Grebe - 1
Great Blue Heron - 2
Black Vulture - 2
Turkey Vulture - 8+
N. Harrier - 2
Red-tailed Hawk - 10+
GOLDEN EAGLE - 1 imm

Killdeer - 1
GR. YELLOWLEGS - 1 - in shallows of the Gose Mill Pond - new late fall date in 
the Mountains
     & Valleys region, according to the VA gold-book.

Mourning Dove - 15+
Belted Kingfisher - 2
Red-headed Woodpecker - 3
Red-bellied Woodpecker - 1
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - 1
