The Bristol Bird Club would like to invite all local birders to our next
field trip to Burkes Garden on Saturday, December 1st. We will meet in the
parking lot of Dick's Sporting Goods at the Pinnacle in Bristol at 6 AM to
carpool. If you would prefer to drive separately, we will be ultimately
meeting friends at the Hardee's in Tazwell, VA at 8 AM.
We'll plan on having lunch at Mattie's in Burkes Garden. However, please
note that they only accept cash. So make sure to bring a few dollars if
you plan on eating. Burkes Garden is a great place to see Golden Eagle,
Red-headed Woodpecker and many other birds that are harder to find in our
region. The forecast for Saturday is for it to be warmer but with a good
chance of rain. Keep your fingers crossed that the warmth is there and the
rain is not. Much of the birding will be by car and quick stops at various
locations around the loop. Hope to see you there!
