Since we've been studying ROOT words from other languages that you find in
English, today will be a fun lesson at school.
The is the "Pic à tête jaune" is the "Peak at yellow head" "Vis à Bois"
translates as Screw with Wood.

Rick,

A great photo ! Absolutely amazing ! This species was
described to
science from a rural area of Greene County, TN in 1897 as a
"Pic à tête jaune" in the field notes of Monsieur
Meunier, the famous
French ornithologist who spent seven years collecting in this
country.
The specimen is on deposit at Muséum National d'histoire Naturelle
in Paris. Your friend is the first to photograph this
thought-to-be
extinct species. Meunier gave it the common name Vis
à Bois
Woodpecker.
