The meeting last night at ETSU- Bristol was attended by 23 members and guests. Don Miller of the Greeneville chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society gave an overview of the work he is doing on a book which is to be an annotated checklist of Hamblen and five adjascent counties. In reviewing the scope of the book, Don did a great job of listing many locations for birding in Hamblen, Greene, Hawkins, Grainger, Cocke, and Jefferson counties --- a large area with some interesting habitat. The book will be a valuable resource on this area.

There will be no BBC field trip this weekend as originally scheduled. The trip to visit Standifer Gap Marsh and Brainerd Levee has been postponed.

Upcoming BBC activities are the Natural Tunnel SP Birding Weekend (May 20th-21st), BBC Picnic (July 1st), BBC/Wards Feed Store FunFest Bird Walks at Bays Mountain Park (July 15th and 22nd).

Several BBC members will be manning a booth at the Abingdon Arbor Day and Earth Day Celebration at Veteran Memorial Park (April 23rd, 2 PM to 4 PM).

Anyone interested in helping with the Herndon Spring Bird Count on April 29th, contact Rick Knight.

Those attending were Mike Evans, Fred & Janice Martin, Dave Worley, Larry McDaniel, Lois Ann Cox, Wilma Boy, Mike Poe, Lynda & Dexter Newman, Richard Lewis, Rick Knight, Wallace Coffey, Rick Phillips, Charlie Parker, Ellen Parker, Nancy Necessary, Don Holt, Diane Draper, Jacki Hinshaw, Judy Roach, Bill Grigsby and Don Miller
