Cherokee Dam in Jefferson & Grainger Counties )


Today on New Year's Day Shane and Dennis Adams went birdwatching at Mossy Creek 
Wildlife Viewing Area in Jefferson City & the Cherokee Dam in Jefferson & 
Grainger Counties. Here are lists birds we saw at both locations today they 
are: First at Mossy Creek WildLife Viewing Area in Jefferson City at the both 
Viewing Blinds 1 & 2 about 50 or more Mallards ( Drakes & Hens ) 2 Nothern 
Shoveler ( also Drake & Hens at Viewing Blind 2 ) 3, American Coots at ( 
Viewing Blind 1):2nd at The Cherokee Dam ( Also about 12 American Coots near 
the Cherokee Dam spillway along a Mallard Drake, 3 Great Blue Herons, 2 
Killdeer about 6 Ring-Billed Gulls and a American Bald Eagle hunting for fish 
between Jefferson & Grainger Counties and at TWRA boat ramp access road in 
Grainger County swimming in the cove right of the Cherokee Dam 2 Mallards ( 
Drake & Hen ).
