Every road killed animal is a tragedy. Sometimes an animal is just trying to get to the other side of the road or is using the highway as, well, a highway. However, in the case of raptors the problem is usually that the bird is trying to catch prey near the road. The prey is probably there because of food scraps of thrown from passing cars.
