Members of the Bristol Bird Club who want to look into the future of the club and help plan the direction of the organization will want to take part in the BBC planning meeting. The meeting will be held Tuesday, July 20, at 7:30 p.m at the Min Dynasty Buffet and Hibachi Grill Restaurant, located at 1375-6 Volunteer Pkwy in Bristol Tennessee. This is in the shopping strip across the street from Lowe's hardware. This restaurant offers an "All You Can Eat" Buffet with over 150 items available weekly, and over 100 items daily. The prices for the Buffet are very reasonable. BBC will have a private meeting room which is directly thru the archway in the middle side of the main dinning room. No reservations are required for individuals. Everyone pays for themselves. BBC has reserved the room. President Dave Worley scheduled this date and time because it would be the same Tuesday and time of the month which regular monthly meetings would be held and more people probably have the date clear. There is no regular meeting at the Bristol Public Library this month due to the fact the annual picnic replaced that meeting. The meeting will decide the major events, dates and locations for club activities, field trips and other outings as well as program directions. However, all field trips and programs will not be scheduled Tuesday -- just major ones. Worley will introduce his vision for the 2012 joint state meeting of the Virginia Society of Ornithology and Tennessee Ornithological Society which will be held in the area sometime in April or May of 2012, That is to be decided. The joint meeting has been approved by the board of directors of both societies and is on the state meeting location schedules of both. Members will review the club's financial standing and plans as we enter a new year. Suggestions and the first step towards updating the BBC by-laws will also be among some of the new items. Be sure and attend the meeting and you will know where BBC is headed in the future and have an opportunity to help direct that path.
