Area Birders:

In May of this year Ed Talbott and Roger Mayhorn, along with other Buchanan
County Bird Club Members, made a birding trip to Magee Marsh on Lake Erie in
Northern Ohio. Migrating passerines stack up there waiting for favorable
winds to help them cross the lake. Ed Talbott took some excellent video of
many of the birds there, and Roger Mayhorn made digital photos of the many
species found there.

Ed and Roger will present some of their video and photos for the Bristol
Bird Club at Tuesday night's meeting.

Also, we are expecting Andy Jones who has just presented a paper at the
American Ornithologists' Union annual meeting. Andy is a Ph.D. candidate at
the University of Minnesota. Also Dr. Tom Laughlin, a new faculty member at
East Tennessee State University, will probably be with us. Dr. Laughlin
comes to ETSU from Virginia State University near Richmond, Va. He is one
of my former subpermit banders when we studied winter hawk populations in
Eastern Sullivan County about 20 years ago.

Come out and enjoy the show.
