Area Birders: The Bristol Bird Club's annual Christmas Bird Count planning meeting will be held Tuesday (this week), Dec. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Steele Creek Park lodge building next to the Steele Creek Park Nature Center in Bristol TN. Counts to be included in the planning are: Dec. 26, 2007 Kingsport TN CBC. Compiler Bill Grigsby (BBC Count) Dec. 29, 2007 Glade Springs, VA CBC. Compiler Ron Harrington (BBC Count) Dec. 30, 2007 Bristol TN-VA CBC. Compiler Richard Lewis (BBC Count) Jan. 1, 2008 Shady Valley TN CBC. Compiler Rob Biller (BBC Count) Jan. 3, 2008 Bristol Bird Club CBCs Compilation Meeting (7:30 p.m. Steele Creek Park Lodge) Participation details such as party assignments, area count leaders, reporting materials, historical data and the meeting location and times for individual parties will be determined and available. The three counts are sponsored by the Bristol Bird Club. If you would like to share a bit of fellowship, participants and anyone else interested, may also meet us for a Dutch dinner at 6:00 p.m. at the Mad Greek Restaurant on the Volunteer Parkway (highway US 11E) in south Bristol Tennessee. The restaurant is across the highway from the Avoca ball fields, Avoca Elementary School and the Bristol Tennessee Essential Services (electric system). The dinner, meeting and participation in any or all BBC sponsored Christmas bird counts are open to anyone.
