This evening on the way to puppy training class a detour to the Watauga River
proved worthwhile. From the bridge we observed two Great Egrets. Sammy and I
observed one of the same here on the morning of 5 JUL 03. Carol I drove around
Hyder Hill Road by the river and parked on the shoulder. I did a Screech Owl
rendition and was answered nearly immediately by Screech Owls on both sides of
the river!
