This is very funny Anita, because I had the same question for Don Miller with my Kestrels. It is I'm guessing a couple miles or more from my house to the Hwy and I see 2 Kestrels in my yard, then 2 Kestrels on Gray Rd, then one and another and eventually 8-10 now. Sometimes I go to the Newport Hwy and other times to the Asheville Hwy direct or by way of Susong/DeBusk and it doesn't matter which way, they are seen. So, could there be that many? I saw 4 golden-crowned kinglets. Then I walked back across the pasture to the creek and saw 4 golden-crowned kinglets. Then I walked to the northern edge of our property and saw 3 golden-crowned kinglets. My question is, do you think the first flock of kinglets followed me around the property (a distance of about 4 acres) or did I actually see 11 kinglets?
