Area Birders, I just returned from a week at the Outer Banks of NC, where I saw 60+ species which included three lifebirds. This morning during the drizzle the first three White-crowned Sparrows of the season showed up in my yard, feeding on Goldenrod seeds. These were 1st. winter birds so the crown stripes were not very bright. Also present was a flock of Chipping Sparrows, a couple of White-throated Sparrows and a couple of Song Sparrows.
