Alex, You were right. I contacted the local Humanware representative. He told me that the Braille Note MPower could not be used with the macbook via cable, even with an adapter, but that it could communicate with any Apple product through Bluetooth. I will even be able to operate the computer from the Braille Note keyboard. I don't see any indication that Bluetooth is turned on in the Macbook, but I told my tech to install everything on the disk and activate all services. Is there a way I can check for Bluetooth through ssh/ I will need to know the address it is using so I can set my Braille Note accordingly. libllouis installed without a hitch. So did pkg-config, once I found the right version (0.22). The make step did generate a huge number of warning messages, but it is working fine. liblouisutdml is to the point where it needs jni.h and jni_md.h I don't know how to find things on the Darwin distro yet. It doesn't have the updatedb and locate commands that I use on other distros. All the usual java commands work. Can you tell me where jni.h and jni_md.h are located? Once liblouisutdml is compiled I will be able to use the file2brl program to make braille documents from the command line, and I will also be able to implement the Open, Translate and Saveas items in BrailleBlaster.
