Actually, many people reffer to "usb memory sticks," or jump drives as flash drives. Because these drives use flash memory, this is not incorrect.

Hello Kwasi

You refer to a "flash drive". I think the flash drive is the
drive built
into the unit. Do you mean a memory stick, which plugs into a
USB port on
the righthand side, or an SD card or a CF card which both have
their slots
on the lefthand side?

Whatever it is, the problem you experience doesn't sound normal.
I have
very little experience with SD and CF cards but they should fit
into the
appropriate slot without any trouble. CF stands for compact
flash and, if
this is what you are referring to in your message, check that you
are using
a standard size compact flash because I think I have heard there
are
different sizes.

Fitting a memory stick into the USB port will depend on the
memory stick. I
have several different ones, one of them is just not recognised
by my
Braille Sense while all the rest are. Some slide in easily and
others need
more careful inserting.

Tell us more about your problem and, out of interest, where did
you buy your
Braille Sense?

Karl

Subject: [braille-sense] Flash Drive Issue

Hi there:

I've had my Braille Sense Plus since June of this year and have
completed
the latest firmware update.

Since I got the unit, it has always found it difficult to detect
when I
insert a flash drive. I usually have to wiggle and wiggle it for
some time
before it catches the connection. Is this a normal/known issue
with the
unit? Or could it be a defect with the unit which fortunately
would be
covered under warrant

Thanks for your input.?
