Hi Ann,

I think I learned to spell by both phonics and learn braille patterns. I remember seeing the word something contracted, and when I decided to spell it out in second grade, I spelled it s u m t h i n g. My error was explained to me by my resource teacher. After making that mistake, I figured that sumthing by that spelling would be an addition problem.

Certain words give me problems, unless I think about them: barely and occurrence are among them. Some words are modern such as configurability. I don't know if I'm spelling that right.

I have learned the limitations of spell checkers. I was in a work situation where we used an old version of DisplayWrite for the IBM System/36. When I ran the spell checker, I got woodpecker for WordPerfect.

I am also annoyed that MS Word always want braille to be capitalized, which is in conflict with a BANA rule most of the time.

When Ithink of brands that it took me some time to learn, one is QWEST. That just doesn't look right. How about Chick-fil-a? To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank Email to bookshare-discuss-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
