AhHA! That's why there's such a long list of books awaiting validation that
say Hold for Viji! Way cool!

Subject: [bookshare-discuss] <smiling> News from India

Hi all,

I was so excited about the fact that Bookshare has moved to India and
is set up near Chennai, a place I have visited. There are many
children and adults there who are blind or visually impaired. They
have had very few books. This project will expand their lives and make
them a part of today's society. Nothing, in my view, is more important
than access to information. Bookshare is making this possible.

I have a friend there who is attending Loyola College. I wrote to
him and told him about Bookshare India, thinking that I would be
telling him something new. <chagrinned expression> Turns out that
Vikas Munot, my friend, is their first validator and has validated
fifty books for them. Nothing like bringing coals to New Castle is
there? I must say I am totally delighted with his news. We're going
to be skyping each other sometime in the next couple of days, and I'll
let you all know what I find out. Oh, BTW, the lady's name is Viji
Dilip. Vikas has met her. Is this a small world or what?

I dunnow if this interests you folks, but I'm just delighted, and I had
to share!

Ann P.
