Oh, I love Eliot's "the love song of j. alfred pprufrock" which is available online at

http://www.cs.amherst.edu/ccm/prufrock.html

Most of Elliot's poetry seems rather obscure to me, but prufrock is sooo depressing but soooo good.

That's what's so wonderful about RLS' verses. They're
easy to remember and one thinks of them throughout
one's life as one sees things like rain and shadows.

I love the sound of some poetry, too. I love the first
part of the first verse of Eliot's Burnt Norton,
though I just now read (online) the whole verse and it
is comprehensible. smile. The second verse requires a
bit more thought than I'm prepared to give it at the
moment, but I don have a book of his poetry.

Isn't it nice that so many of these poems are
available online. I wonder how come, since I should
think the copyrights are still valid.

Hi all,

I love poetry, don't read it much, but when I do,
the good stuff speaks
to me. I think of it as language distilled twice,
like brandy or some
other liquour. Here's a familiar one to describe
today.

Rain

The Rain is raining all around,
It falls on fields and trees.
It rains on the umbrellas here,
And on the ships at sea. RLS
