Hi Shelley:
First let me say I am a Bookshare member and have Kurzweil 10.03. On this
machine (in Florida) I have JAWS 7.0 and XP (service pack 2) but up north
(in the summer) I am still using Windows98(SE) and the machine is too old
and slow to install XP. Now for my question, I have been told you can't use
either BookPort or BookCurrier on a Windows98 system. I have not purchased
either BookPort or BookCurrier, since half of the year they would be
useless, is there any system I could use with Bookshare and Windows (other
than reading them on the computer)?
Thanks,
George R. Marshall

I use my Book courier, (which you get a discount on as you are a Bookshare member) to read the books.

it handles, Daisy, brf, txt, and MP3 files.

I use mine to read the books in the daisy format.

I also use Kurzweil, to convert the books into MP3 and then transfer them
over.

Though I have gotten used to the double talk speech.

It is the Book Port's less complicated cousin, smile. But the transfer
tools behave about the same.

It also uses compact flash memory to store the books and I haven't filled my
card up yet.

Hi,I'm curious about what to buy so I can listen to books on the go or while
I'm waiting for an appointment or just need something to read in the
evening. What recommendations do you have and can I transfer books to an
MP3 player?
