I think this is another reason there needs to be more of a distinction between 
adult, teen and what would clearly be children's books. A child of 6 or even 
10 still has access to a lot of books that are not appropriate at all. Maybe 
children of a certain age should be restricted to books in the children's 
category only and that would help the situation a little?

Perhaps a parents of a six year old does not wish the child to read 
about a person being tied to a wheel and beaten while others watch 
the blood run and have sex while the person on the wheel goes 
unconscious from loss of blood.
