Hi Lori, I'm sending this to the list because other people might want to know.

I'm not sure why you didn't find them, but NLS has a lot of books by Salman Rushdie, including The Satanic Verses, RC 29207.

Fourteen records are listed. Taking away one that is in both braille and on tape, Haroun and the sea of stories, BR 08488 and RC 32700, and another that is being reissued, Midnight's Children, RC 16993 and INPROCESS, that leaves an even dozen titles in the NLS collection.

So if you like his work, you'll want to check the list at NLS again, because they have some that Bookshare doesn't have yet.

I'm in a book group with American Association of University Women. For September, we are going to read a new book by Salman Rushdi; the title has the word Empress in it.

NLS has no books by Rushdi. My local library has no books by Rushdi. Bookshare has six books by Rushdi. I found that very interesting, and again hurray for bookshare.

The one which comes to mind off the top of my head is The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdi.

Hi, all you story-tellers. as a relatively new kid on the visually impaired block, I get a kick out of the discussions. and love the dectalk entertainment.

My local AAUW book club is doing banned books in september. I found a list of ALA "most challenged" books but I'm not sure these qualified as "banned". where can I find a good list of books that were banned bit time, and a good
story behind the banning?

I feel like I'm asking the list to do my home work, guess that's what is
happening. I'll be glad to assemble a web page of banned books and their
stories, if not already available.

I'm a novice scanner, was thrilled to have my 3rd book accepted recently. You
beterans inspire me.
