Hi, Traci, I got an email from audible.com informing me about the sale, but when I entered in on the web site, I didn't know what to select in order to see those books on sale. I may not buy anything, but I'd sure like to look. Any help received will be really appreciated. Thanks and best regards, Kim. _____ From: Traci Evans [mailto:season@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Sunday, September 27, 2009 1:54 PM To: bookshare-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookshare-discuss] Re: audible is having a sale Hi Kim I usually won't even bother with an abridged book I am so serious about needing to know every tidbit in a book. Once I got an abridged copy of a Nora Robers book and it was a fairly good editting. But there was thisw one part which I felt was pivotal to the story itself, a mere couple of sentences which would have shed more light on the why something happened and they skipped the conversation. It was only mentioned in someone ele's narative to another person and I didn't like that. I was fortunate to find the title at the NLS and ran down there to get it. I read the exchange and it was like one of those lightbulb moments. Since then, I won't read abridged copies. When I was perusing Audible's sale list, I saw quite afew unabridged recordings. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kim <mailto:kimfri11@xxxxxxxxxxx> Friedman To: bookshare-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, September 26, 2009 6:33 AM Subject: [bookshare-discuss] Re: audible is having a sale Hi, Tracy, (sorry for misspellings), I've joined audible.com and I get 2 credits per month. I've probably been emailed about the sale. One thing though, Tracy, I prefer just getting unabridged audiobooks. Hopefully other folks will try audible.com out. Regards, Kim. _____ From: Traci Evans [mailto:season@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Saturday, September 26, 2009 2:56 AM To: bookshare-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookshare-discuss] audible is having a sale Hi everyone, I know some of you listen to audible downloaded books. If you don't, now might be a good time to try it out. They have selected books on sale for $4.95. I saw a title by Greg Isles, one by Sandra Brown, a Jennifer Crussie, Jane Castle. They have a lot more but those are the authors I am familiar with. I think they may have something like 150 fiction titles and 150 nonfiction titles. I know the site can be iffy but I have minimal problems with Window Eyes. Also, if you join for the first time, I think the monthly fee is $7 for three months and you get one credit each month. Most of the books I've seen are 1 credit and I purchased a regularly priced book at $7 instead of the whopping $38! If you don't want a monthly fee, you could always try the plan I had which is a yearly fee of 9.99. No credits on that plan but it gives you member status. __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4459 (20090926) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4459 (20090926) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4459 (20090926) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4462 (20090927) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com
