Thanks, Cheryl. I didn't know I could canncel it. If it is in toolbars or options and is not hiding, I'll find it. Off hand, I can't remember which one controls the office assistant. Sighted people have told me it's an annoying icon in several versions of word of a paper clip that pops up when you are doing tasks in word such as spell check or formatting. You might also go to options under tools and see if there's a check box for office assistant. If I get a chance, I'll ask around for the exact location to cancel it, but not sure time will allow that today. Hope this helps. However, in Word on the desktop it is "spellcheck and > grammar" and all I can get it to do is refer me to online Office > Assistant. > What am I missing? > > Sue S. > > > > >
