Thanks Gerald,These large microtech scanners sound very interesting. Unfortunately the price is way too high. May be they would be on sale oneday. For the time being I will just send my large books to Munawar, since she already got a large flatbed scanner. smile.
Thanks all for the input. Cheers, Ibrahim----- Original Message ----- From: "Gerald Hovas" <GeraldHovas@xxxxxxxxx>

Ibrahim, Try MicroTech. According to Amazon, they even have models now which can handle 12" X 17".I have one of their older model legal size scanners which I bought a coupleof years ago. It's easy to use and hasn't given me a bit of trouble. Hi Folks, My old Hp4c Scanner died, and I spent a lot of time looking for a scanner that has similar large surface, but I could not. All scanners I found hassignificantly smaller surfaces. The hp4c has a 14 inch by 9.5 inches which made them suitable for most books. Now, the largest surface of the scannersI could find is 11.7 by 8.5. which make them small for most books. This isextremely frustrating. Did any of you figure out a solution to this problem?
