I've been bounced from both lists a few times, but after the last time I
resubscribed, over a year ago, I haven't had any trouble.
As for being unable to subscribe, I'm glad to say that, unlike Comcast,
among others that I've heard about, my email provider, DSL Extreme, doesn't
take it upon itself to decide that whatever lists I want to be on are spam.
That is a really irritating position to be in.

These lists have not always been easy to subscribe on.
Luckily, I am subscribed to both, but Madeleine helped me remain subscribed
by taking some action.
My husband has been removed by the listserve so many times that he has given
up. Anything of major importance on the volunteer list I share with him.

I don't understand why you can subscribe to one but not the other. They are
both hosted by Freelists and you subscribe the same way. But the difference
is that the volunteer list is for discussing technical issues involved in
the volunteer work like your asterisk problem. This list is more for talking
about Bookshare issues that are of more interest to Bookshare users who are
not volunteers. Anyway, when I made my comment I wasn't trying to be one of
those people who try to play moderator who are not the moderator. It just
occurs to me that you are more likely to get help there because there are
more volunteers there and that is what that list is for.

To which I cannot subscribe. Some issue with internet provider!
Also, I don't think I ever knew the difference between this list, and the volunteer list to which I cannot subscribe!
Thanks for clarifying something I always wondered about.

Let me suggest that this topic really belongs on the volunteer list, not the Bookshare general discussion list.

Thanks, as I just mostly scan and do not proof books, I only wanted
an answer to that one question.
I just cannot keep up with all the requirements for proofreading.
Just try to get a perfect scan.

Hi all,
Sharon, I believe that this question is answered in the proofer's
manual, however, I will say that if you place three contiguous stars
and hit 'enter', Word, at least, will create a line of stars which is
not what you want here. You want to put spaces between each star.
