Hi, Sue. You can change those settings in the spell checker. If you still
have that problem, I can find it and tell you what to change, unless someone
already has. Take care.

I have a spell checker in Outlook Express but don't use it because it wants
me to change things in the address, etc, when it is set to check
automatiically.

I don't have a spell checker on my outlook express either. I have Word
Perfect for Windows installed, which I think came with the computer. Don't
have MS Word available. Wish I had a spell checker, but I try to get by
without it!
