That was the whole problem; she scanned the book in PDF and even Adobe said they weren't convertable into a txt file the way she scanned them.
I am a LOUSY scanner and horribly tech-phobic which is why I asked the Disability Coordinator to scan the book after the publisher threw a hissy fit about sending a txt file. That is her job, after all.
Well, in the end, my husband (who isn't techphobic, just incredibly busy) scanned the stupid book for me.
At the time, I didn't have a scanner or Kurtzweil. Of course, if the publisher had sent the files, I wouldn't have had to go to the coordinator except for the certification of blindness. Groan, I just wish people would do what they are paid to do and do what they are supposed to do.

PDFS are a pain in the hind end, smile no matter how you slice them. I usually convert them using Kurzwiel than try to read them, smile. That is of course if they are really text PDFs.. Shelley L. I spent more time fighting the access mountain than I did learning. Debra----- Original Message ----- From: "Shelley L. Zaria is my first Leader Dog and Lily is my second. My first master's degree is in School Psychology and the second is in Counseling & Guidance. They are related fields but in Texas, you can't practice psychology without supervision or bill Medicaid/Medicard/insurance. I'm going to be practicing as a grief and bereavement counselor at a hospice inpatient unit.I've had no end of difficulties with this master's since accessibility hasbeen an ongoing problem with books and WebCT and online sites., probably due to the fact that I don't "do" things like the *other* blind students at our campus. I'm not quite blind enough or deaf enough, lol. As for being interesting?
