Thanks! This was a marvelous link.I haven't had the bookshare unpack tool on my computer for two years as I bought Kurzweil about the same time I upgraded from Windows 98 to XP and a new computer. My 98 machine crashed-and-burned with no survivors which finally forced the upgrade. I recently bought a Victor Reader Stream and was asked to see if bookshare books would play on the stream. So. With Daryl's help I unpacked a bookshare book, made a folder in my $dtb folder and copied the book there. The book reads just fine, but there seems to be no heading and other information in the book. Using the 4 and 6 keys jumps me either to the beginning or the end of the book. At that rate I might just as well unpack the book in Kurzweil and save and copy as a *.txt file.

Hello Joe, Please take a look at the following link: http://www.shandrow.com/tutorials/bookshare.html I think you might just find that tutorial helpful. :-)----- Original Message ----- From: "Jo Taliaferro" <soaringeagle7@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <bookshare-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, March 28, 2008 7:11 AM Subject: [bookshare-discuss] Re: HELP!!! I can't read books on my computer!! Hello all,I've been sort of lax in keeping up with the bookshare happenings but...I tried to download and unpack a book the other day, "old Possum's book of Practical Cats". I downloaded the book, saved it in my eBooks folder and then unpacked it. I got the book with the extensions at the end of the title, cmx, opt and sml. I can't find anything that tells me what these file extensions stand for nor can I get the book to play in Windows Media Player. I dislike the Victor Reader software voice. What can I do so as not to have to listen to the book online? I have considered disabling my wireless capability to see if that would help. I'd love some feedback. Thanks to you all.
