Windows Media player plays audio files. As these books are text files Windows media Player won't work.

You have two choices.
1, live with the Victor Voice.
2. when you use the book you have the option of getting a html file. If you have a html file you can read the book using Internet Explorer or another word processor to read the book with your screen reader.

The CMX and SML files are files used in the daisy formatting. If you unpack the book and get the HTML file say old Possum's book.html" you can delete all the other files and just use the HTML file. Do you have either Kurzweil or open book? if you do, you can also use these programs to read a bookshare book.

Hello all,I've been sort of lax in keeping up with the bookshare happenings
but...I tried to download and unpack a book the other day, "old Possum's book
of Practical Cats". I downloaded the book, saved it in my eBooks folder and
then unpacked it. I got the book with the extensions at the end of the title,
cmx, opt and sml. I can't find anything that tells me what these file
extensions stand for nor can I get the book to play in Windows Media Player.
I dislike the Victor Reader software voice. What can I do so as not to have
to listen to the book online? I have considered disabling my wireless
capability to see if that would help. I'd love some feedback. Thanks to you
all.
