Pretty much the same problem although I did get the books downloaded after
trial an error.
I entered on the download button and waited about a minute with nothing
happening; then I pressed alt+s which is the command I use to save book. After
a short pause I heard the question "do you want to open or save the book?" I
pressed alt+s and got the book. This happened on three different books from the
Best Seller list. The process is not really working properly.
I am using Windows 7 and I.E. 11. My speech program is Window Eyes 8.4.

To Sue And Anyone Else Interested:
Same problem on my end. I have tried several times to download a certain
book, trying both BRF and DAISY formats, and it shows up in my Account
History but will not download properly in either format. I've even
received an e-mail message showing the book is ready for download; but
when I look in my Account History, next to the title appears a
statement saying the request is "pending" and that "the book you
requested is being prepared." But it never comes.
I too am running Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 11 as my primary
browser. But then I attempted the same exercise in Firefox Ver.
47.0.1 and the same glitch resulted.
In my case, the book is a popular history called "Opening Of The
West Boxed Set" by Stephen Ambrose.
