I lost track of who is doing what but whoever is scanning & validating might settle down for the long haul and do the whole [original author] series as these books are worse than peanuts for a lover of sf or fantasy or even sf for young adults. Whatever one's opinion of book series continued by other writers, you can stop with McCaffrey's [?] original if you choose and let someone else pick up on the rest. Or if it is a bit intimidating [for which no one could blame you] arrange now where you want to stopand let someone else pick up the rest by single or groups. It might make it easier if you can decide in advance the "how to" of some of these problems.

That's sounds like a good idea. I was thinking there were a few more errors than the one I mentioned. It seemed that there were some disjointed segments but it had been so long since I originally read the book, I wasn't sure. Thanks for the help! It's not that critical, though, because there's a copy of it in the book The DragonRiders of Pern whichappears to be in Excellent shape. I'd suggest reading that version of thefirst three books. It's not a major thing; however it could confuse people if they read other books in the Pern series and the scan doesn't do that. Evan----- Original Message ----- From: <zaria797@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <bookshare-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, March 22, 2007 5:27 AM Subject: [bookshare-discuss] Correction questionI am currently re_reading the Dreagonriers of Pern series of books by AnneMcCaffrey. I have noticed a discrepancy in the scanning; a typical scanning error where two letters are scanned as one. Since I know what the word should be; how do I correct the error? The error occurs in the name of one of the major characters in the book. The name should be F'lar and is occuring as Mar.
