I have a serious hearing impairment and had absolutely no problem
accustoming myself to the Doubletalk after I purchased my BP. I can't say
this about every speech synthesizer I've encountered, either.

Well kind of, you can convert the files to mp3 files using neo speech
or what ever you want.
They are big, less navagable, and take up more batery power. You
also can't adjust the rate or tone of the speech after the files are
created.

I can't imagine not being able to learn doubletalk speech, even with
a hearing impairment. It's so sad to be limited in the resources a
person can use.
