Frankly, this is one of the better lists that I use. Many of the participants are knowledgeable and APH is always monitoring and assisting. I received my Bookport on August 13, 2003. I remember the date because it was two days before I had surgery to repair a broken wrist. I am so right-handed, I could hardly open the little box. The Bookport made my short recovery time much easier to go through. However, all of that is trivial compared to the amazing advances in the firmware and software that have happened in the past year. Audible, RFB&D, KES, and on and on. This is a device that lets you carry a library in your pocket along with your favorite tunes. I never bring it to work for fear I'll find something too good not to read. But, other than that, I want it with me everywhere. Now, to be fair, I also own the other device. But Bookport has eclipsed the competition because of its ongoing development and its constant improvements. Glad to own one! -----Original Message----- From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Debbie Crafts Sent: Thursday, September 16, 2004 1:14 PM To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookport] Re: traffic Have to agree with this--this is the only device-specific list that I read avidly and participate in on a regular basis. The Bookport is great, but so is this list. However, I must agree with Peter in that it's the traffic that I like on this list. I dropped off the Pac Mate list because of the high number of daily posts but I find I don't want to miss anything on this list. I'm interested in all things Book Port Lou ----- Original Message ----- From: <peter.rand@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, September 16, 2004 7:58 AM Subject: [bookport] traffic > Larry, > > It's the high amount of traffic and bouncing of ideas back and forth that > make this list so interesting. > > Peter > > > LARRY SKUTCHAN writes: > > > For those of you interested in keeping up with the latest developments > > about Book Port, but do not want to deal with the high amount of traffic > > on this list, sibscribe to the new announce only Book Port list. > > > > To subscribe to this new list, send an email to > > > > bpannounce-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx and put the word subscribe in the > > subject. > > > > > > > > > >
