Dory:

If a unit has not been properly activated, you'll hear a message
telling you of that fact. That's all. You can delete that and re-send
the file, with the proper activation. There is nothing there that would
keep the activation from happening. It is just a recorded message,
announcing the book is protected and that the device you are using is
not an activated audible device.

No one has answered my question. And in case there is any
misunderstanding.
my husband and I have two separate accounts at audible. We were assured
we
could both activate our one book port. But things did not happen the
way
they were supposed when I tried, although Audible resolved the problem.

Nonetheless, several attempts were made by me to send my book to be
transferred to the bp all which failed until audible was able to get me

activated. The book's two parts were transferred to the bp. Although
it
appeared that it would play, when my husband first checked it, when we
were
going to read the book, it would not play.

I want to know if somehow a code is inserted when more than one
unsuccessful
attempt at activation and transfer occurs which prevents the book from

playing. If so, I would like to see mention of this fact in the
manual.

If this is not the case, can you explain why the bp appeared to be
malfunctioning when attempts were made to play this book?

Finally, Marion and I do not share our books with others; only with
each
other; we've been with audible better than three years now.

Thanks for the help.
