I have never seen this happen on my Bookport, but you do get only a
fraction of the battery life from rechargeables versus standard cells.
With a set of normal batteries, I can use my Bookport for two to three
months without needing replacements, whereas rechargeable lithium cells
only lasted me about five days at a stretch.
