Missy, I have two suggestions. www.poikosoft.com and www.cdex.com The first costs a few dollars, and does more. The second is free, and is a favorite among many people on this list. I'm experiencing a really weird computer-related problem, and I'm hoping that it's something that can be easily fixed. I was going to try and rip some of my books on CD to audio so that I could send them to my bookport. I don't have any dedicated CD ripping software because I haven't found anything accessible to use under Windows XP yet. Anyway, to make a long story a bit shorter, I tried to investigate the CD reading options in goldwave, and it said their was an error. It wasn't any more specific than that, but no matter what I tried, it wouldn't do anything with the CD I had in my drive. Similarly, I tried putting a CD in to see if perhaps Windows Media player would rip it for me, and it also had an error. Neither program would tell me specificly what the problem was, but it would seem that for whatever mysterious reason, I'm not able to rip CDs. Windows Media Player would play a CD, but that was about it. Any ideas? Am I somehow missing some driver files or something? Windows Media player was ripping CDs for me a couple weeks back, but naturally, at that time, I hadn't thought of the idea of trying to put some of my audio CD books into MP3 format for the bookport. Does anyone know how I might go about fixing this problem, or I suppose a better question might be, does anyone know the best software I can use for the purpose described above? Ideally, I'd like to make a single mp3 file from all the tracks of each individual CD; that way, a book such as one of the Harry Potter books would consist of 24 mp3 files rather than tons of really little files. Any assistance any of you can provide in this situation would be extremely appreciated. Thank you all very much for reading this, and I hope that everyone is having a great day. Missy
