Dear Rob/Larry:

I appear to be receiving inconsistent problems from the two of you. Rob says to return the unit whereas Larry suggests the problem may be fixable if I have a card reader. What should I do? Thank you.

Yes, I did remove the batteries and tried re-inserting them. In fact,
I have tried two sets of batteries to be sure.

   In my earlier message, I forgot to mention that I tried the
bookport reset command 2+b without success.  I received no response from
the machine.  As before, any help would be gratefully  received.  Thank
