Hi Shane and list!

K1000 shouldn't make any difference. Bookshare doesn't put many navigation marks in the file from what I gather, but it can be useful for the navigation that they have included.

Cheers,
Dave

Thanks, David. Will this method work with k1000? That's what I use mostly when reading, at least from my pc. I'm certainly not opposed to using the unpacking utility if I need to as well. Thanks for all your help.

Just unpack the book. Go to the ncc.html file in the book and choose send to book port from the context menu. The book will transfer.

Cheers

Thanks for that prompt reply. Another question. I am a bookshare.org subscriber. As such, I have the ability to download the books in daisy format. I use k1000 for most of my downloading of books. How's the best way to get a bookshare book in daisy format onto the bookport? Thanks. I hope that all makes sense.

You can't change the synthesiser built into the book port. However, you can use any speech engine on your PC to convert text Braille Word or HTML files before sending them to the book port as audio files. When you do that, be aware that you lose many navigational features in that material, but if you truly can't adjust the book port's speech to suit, it is optionally available to you through the book port's transfer programme. Hope this clarifies things.

Cheers,
Dave
