Tasha:

If you are using a hub, bypass it and see if that helps.

go under my computer with bookport connected, it says removable disk (e)
but then when i click on this "disk" it says that it isn't formatted.

The installation CD isn't going to help in this situation; it does
not
ship with any drivers either. It sounds like what is happening is a
drive letter conflict. Can you describe the machine you're using in
a
little more detail? If you are on a network, you may wish to
consult
the Frequently Asked Questions section of the manual for instructions
on
resolving drive letter conflicts.

hi list, i'm installing bookport on a new computer and have, in
typical
Tasha fashion, lost the installation cd. i've installed the bookport
transfer wizard from the aph website, but this download didn't seem
to
include any usb drivers. when i connect the bookport, nothing
happens--
the add hardware wizard does not start and does not recognize that a
new
piece of hardware has been connected. if someone would be kind enough
to
send me the drivers i'd really apreciate it since i'm leaving for
the
Cape on Wednesday and want reading material for the beach!
