Hi Sharon. I'm just guessing but you might try formatting the card using the Bookport command rather than your computer. The keys are the 1, 3, D and F.

You should also try the Bookport reset 2,B.

Subject: [bookport] help!!!! bp dead

Hello. I've been listening to stuff from a 4 gig card. All of a sudden the bp died. I thought it was batteries so I changed them. I tried another card and it recognized that one. It was late so I didn't put anything on that card. I cleared out the 4 gig card and reformatted it on the computer. I hooked the bp up to the computer to transfer files to it. It gave me the message that the usb port was not working or something like that. It also said that it did not recognized the device. This does this on both computers. Now, when I put any card in the bp it just makes a clicking sound. When I would take the batteries out and put them back in it says bp 2.2 ready. Now it just squeals. How can i get my machine back to normal? I sure hope I can get it fixed without sending it in but I'm not feeling positive about that at this moment. I really miss my bp.
Sharon
