[bookport] future question

I know right now the Book Port isn't capable of playing things that haven't
first been sent via the transfer software, but are the creators considering the
possibility of changing this?
As of now I don't mind the process, but isn't NLS eventually switching over to
flash as well? At that point it would be really great to just pop the card in
and out and not have to bother with the transfer process, which ultimately is
just basically duplicating what they've just sent you anyways.
Maybe I'm wrong..
