It has worked on my pc and BrailleNote, but maybe the linux firmware on the icon is different? It should work, though, as the dd file is just an mp3 file with a longer extension for the bp, as far as I understand. Give it a try, though. That is the best way to find out, and let us know how it goes.

If you do this, I'm not sure it will play on your Icon. At 10:35 PM 10/7/2007 -0400, you wrote:It shouldn't do that unless you use the transfer software. If
you
just use the bookport as a card reader you should be fine. The only way to get rid of the dd extension is to rename the filewith a normal .mp3 extension. Not sure how you do this on the
Icon
as I don't have one, but on a pc just point to the file, press
f2,
and you are ready to rename.

Hi all, I used the bookport to move music files from onecomputer toanother. My question is will this add the extention _dd to a mp3file? I amtrying to put my mp3s on my icon and can't because of the extrafileextention. If the bp put the _dd on them how do I get rid ofthat extention? Thanks The Lady Lou
