Hi All,

What if in the BookPort Transfer software you could specify where you will
be backing up your BookPort via My Computer or Windows Explorer. The
BookPort software would provide you with information about the date of your
last back-up, and remind you to do this often. I'm really not sure that
this feature is worth the time and effort to add it to the transfer
software.

Honestly, I think that we all need to be responsible adults and back-up our
BookPorts, just as we should be backing up our hard drives. It doesn't take
all that long. But I know that we are all short on time, and backing-up our
computers, BookPorts, note takers, and whatever else, we all fail to do it.

Annette

Walt, I completely understand where you are coming from. However, there is
one word that is missing, and that is "automatic." If BP transfer had
prompted me to back up, I might have actually done it. *Smile* As I
stated, I certainly wish I had!
Yes, this feature would cater to the lazy, and I probably would still use
windows explorer and a card reader instead of putting the burden of copying
the card on the BookPort, but I can see why the automatic backup feature
would be helpful to some.

What am I missing here? Who needs any "special" function? Just connect the
BP to your computer, open Windows Explorer, press CTRL+A to select all files
and folders, press CTRL+C to copy them to the clipboard, then create a new
folder on the hard drive (mine is called Book Port Backup) and open that new
folder and press CTRL+V.

Don,

I'll heartily second this suggestion. Oh how I wish I'd backed up my 2GB
card the day I was so eager to show my BookPort to my mother that I just
pulled the card right out without making sure it had beeped first. Needless

to say, everything on the card was gone and it had to be reformatted. It
took literally weeks to put it all back the way I wanted it. I'm another
one of those lazy people who never gets around to backing things up, so this

feature would be great.
