Dale: This really looks like an issue with your software. I am not sure =
it is service pack related. Does it seem like other USB devices work OK?

Yes it worked perfectly for a long time.
Also the strange is I have a dual boot system - both systems are Windows =
XP=20
Professional. I have installed service pack 2 on my main drive and it=20
won't recognise bookport.
The second version of XP is still at service pack 1 and it recognises=20
bookport perfectly.
I realise other things in my registry could be corrupted but it is not =
the=20
processor, motherboard etc as identical machine works perfectly with=20
another OS which hasn't been played around with and had lots of installing=
=20
and uninstalling.
