Rob, Too bad. Now that the pitch problem was fixed for recording memos, I've sometimes used this feature for learning new tunes on the piano. Someone will record the melody and I can learn from there. It would be useful to have the same kind of navigation/bookmarking capabilities in these memos as with other audio and text files. Also, sometimes I will take phone messages where I might want to put a bunch of info into a memo based on the phone interaction. In this case, the memos can become a bit drawn out as I get feedback from the person on the other end and speak it into the Bookport. Here too, it would be nice if I could bookmark the beginnings of the important information snippets one gets and puts into a single longer memo. I surprised that it isn't easy (or almost default) that these memos couldn't be treated the same as any other audio / text file on the Bookport. Then again, I don't know the architecture here. In any case, if its easy, it would be nice to have. -- Pete --- original message --- Date: Fri, 03 Sep 2004 11:19:11 -0400 From: "ROB MEREDITH" <rmeredith@xxxxxxx> Subject: [bookport] Re: Question on recorded Pete: Bookmarks don't work in memos. This isn't something that is currently on = the list. Memos are really supposed to be short recordings, so they have = no navigation. >>> ptorpey@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 09/03/04 09:52AM >>> I cannot get bookmarks to work in recorded memos. Is this a feature that should work or will be added later? I'm surprised this doesn't work like other audio files. -- Pete ------------------------------ From: "Gary Wunder" <gwunder@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [bookport] Beta Question Date: Fri, 3 Sep 2004 10:32:02 -0500 I notice that the new beta shows as 6 MB while the old was 9. Have I gotten a partial download or is this okay? The speakers were made by TDK, and they go by the name ImaSpeaker. They come in two different models, with one being monaural, and the other being stereo. The monaural version is said to be quite a bit smaller than the stereo version. Try Ebay, and jandr.com Best regards, Rick Alfaro ralfaro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of ptorpey Sent: Friday, September 03, 2004 9:55 AM To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookport] Recommendation on External Speakers for the Bookport I am still trying to find the model and/or ordering info for the external speakers some folks seemed to like on this list a while ago.
