I think the problem is the way it was expressed. Wish lists, and questions
are fine, but when their is criticism and challenges as though APH owed
people something or had to answer for their reasons in why the product was
developed a certain way are not appropriate.
A product was marketed and people are free to buy it or not and for their
own reasons. There are no real competitive products on the market and if
one wants to criticize it, they should come up with a better product. Then
they could promote the advantages of their product over the book port.
I think this list was intended to help book port users, and in that spirit,
it should be polite.
When new betas are released, or when people find problems with their book
port, this list is the place to state them, but not to criticize the people
at APH for their selection of features to put in or leave out of the book
port.
The fine people at APH have added many nice features to the book port, but
it's primary function is to provide expanded access to reading materials.
Their goal is to solve problems that blind people have. Every device has a
primary function and what ever it does beside that are extras. People don't
refuse to buy a cell phone because it doesn't have their favorite game on
it.
