We've had some discussion about this very topic. You can actually use any batteries you want, but the battery level check (D+F) won't be terribly accurate for anything but alkalines. However, with a little use, you can pretty well get a handle on guesstimating the level based on what the battery level keystroke reports. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ibrahim Gucukoglu" <igucukoglu@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, January 07, 2005 1:48 PM Subject: [bookport] a question about batteries Hi again listers. Could someone please tell me how good or bad BookPort's support for rechargeable NIMH batteries is? On the Book Courier, you have an option to choose from rechargeable and non rechargeable batteries which would effect the behaviour of the battery level indicator. I understand this is something to do with the fact that rechargeable cells have a lesser voltage than their alkaline counterparts. The difference is negligible, but how well does it work. Warmest, Ibrahim
