Hi, hopefully one of you who have a zune will do a podcast and put it on blindcooltech.com and tell the rest of us how to operate it, how accessible it is and how to download music into it.

Yes, I have just gotten a Zune myself and I have to say that it is the most
beautiful player among the others I've owned. The zune music store is the
most accessible online music store for screenreaders. If you have any
questions regarding the Zune, please feel free to contact me.

I do not know to much yet. It does take a while to download songs. It will
not take over the other music but the songs from the Zune library will be
deleted if the package is not purchased. It costs $15 each month to download
music.

.Interesting that this topic would come up now, since I was going to
.ask about the Zune myself. Maybe Hope can answer this for me.
.
.I realize that most functions on the Zune are probably not accessible,
.although it's good to know that playing music is possible for a blind
.person. But what I want to know about is the Zune software installed
.on the computer. This software is used to transfer music to the Zune.
.
.Is this software usable with JAWS?
.
.Does it "take over" your music on your PC making it difficult or
.impossible to listen to it using normal players such as winamp?
.
.Any information you can share about both the device and its associated
.software would be most gratefully appreciated.

.Hi Walt!
.It is Micro Soft's new version of the IPOD. It has 30 Gigs of memory
.and a screen so that sighted people can watch movies or read song
.lyrics. It does not have accessible menus as of yet. I am able to use
.it if it is set on music because it has a play/pause button and the
.left and right arrows move from song to song.
.Obviously there is a lot that can't yet be done because it is not
.totally accessible. However, I tried to use an IPOD and could not even
.get that far.
.
.My thinking is that maybe AFB or some one who is tech savvy could work
.with the Zune to make it accessible and also allow it to work with the
.various Software programs.
.
.If the Bookport and JAWS software could be adapted to work with it
.that would be so cool.
.
.Hope
